In connection with the Lenten project that was announced in a Letter to the Editor written by Marta Waters, on February 27, the children of the St. John's Kenyan Children's Foundation will celebrate a very special Easter this year, thanks to the generosity of many Garden City families, who are participating in the FACE (Feed a Child on Easter) Project. FACE gives all participants the opportunity to pray together as a family, for all the innocent Kenyan children who are being affected by famine, and to make a donation for a meal at Easter. Our goal is to collect $25 per family, from 50 local families, to provide food for 50 Kenyan families. This is a beautiful way to celebrate Easter, by donating a meal to someone who is in need. The food packs that will be distributed, will feed a Kenyan family for 2 to 4 weeks. We have already received some contributions, and we are hoping to receive many more in the weeks to come. Donation checks should be made payable to the St. John's Kenyan Children's Foundation and mailed by Monday, April 6 to P.O. Box 411 Garden City, New York, 11530. All contributions are tax deductible to the extent permitted by law.

The Foundation would also like to announce their upcoming Wine Tasting Fundraiser. If you thought you missed it, don't panic! It's coming! It will be held on Saturday, May 16th, at 8pm, at Kellenberg

Memorial High School in Uniondale. Everyone is invited to attend. Bring your family and friends. A fun evening is planned for everyone to enjoy. There will be great prizes at the Chinese and Silent Auction for the lucky winners to take home. Fine wines will also be available for tasting and ordering. Invitations will be in your mailbox soon.
