St. Joseph School Pep Rally
      The school community was out in green and gold force to cheer for the Boys and Girls Basketball Teams as they faced St. Agnes. Both teams put up a tremendous fight and the pep squad did an outstanding job in rallying the crowd, with the help of their raccoon and Scooby-Doo mascots! Girls Basketball Finishes Season 13-4
      With a regular season record of 13-4 Garden City's girls basketball team began the playoffs as the top seed in their division. On February 13th, in the first round of the playoffs, the Trojans played host to Valley Stream North. Junior Diana Leondis had 11 of her 13 points and five of her eight assists in a 27-11 first quarter.

GCAA Challenger Basketball - 2009
      GCAA 2009 Challenger Basketball Program has been going strong since early January of this year. Every Saturday afternoon dozens of players gather at Garden City Middle School with one objective in mind - play some serious hoops!

GC Centennial Spring '09 Intramural Season: Registration is Now Open
      The Garden City Centennial Soccer Club will be opening their spring season on Saturday April 4th. Girls play 9:00AM until 1:00PM and boys play from 1:00PM until 5:00PM (with the exception of Pre-K, Kindergarten and 1st grade). The registration deadline is January 31st. Registrations received after January 31st will be accepted based on space and availability and is subject to a $25.

GCAA Intramural Basketball Gearing Up
      Let us first take this opportunity to thank the 1,125 participants that made the 2008-2009 GCAA Basketball Season one of the best ever. GCAA Basketball will run thru Monday March 16th with our last day of Saturday action as March 14th. The GCAA Intramural Playoff Brackets illustrate all the playoff match ups. The K-1 clinics also run through Sat March 14th.

Girls Basketball Ends Season With 14-5 Record
      Garden City's High School's girls basketball team finished their season with a playoff loss to Westbury but fans can look forward to next year as Diana Leondis will look to become the 4th player in Garden City history to score 1000 career points.

Indoor Lacrosse Champions
      Garden City 6th Grade Girls won the Sportime Winter Indoor Lacrosse league this past Saturday with a 16-11 victory over a determined Wantagh team. Under the leadership of coaches Gallagher, Adams, Bingham and Gregory, the girls consistently controlled the game with their up-tempo style of play. A great defensive effort was shown throughout the season, as well as selfless play.

GCAA Travel Hoops
      All of our teams continue to excel in the highly competitive Island Garden Super League. Here are some of the latest highlights: GRANVILLE 3RD BOYS improved their record to 15-2 (good for first place) by beating the 4th grade MDP Patriots 30-13 on Thurs Feb 26th. The 3rd graders held this 4th grade team scoreless for the entire first half with suffocating defense.
