The Garden City PTA will hold a special presentation on "The Gangs of Long Island" on March 11th at 7:30 P.M. in the Garden City High School Cafeteria.

Robert Hart, a former FBI agent in charge of the Long Island Gang Task Force, along with Nassau County Detectives John McLaughlin and Ray Ruiz, will provide an overview of:

• violent street gangs on LI

• who they are

• where they are

• how they are recognized

• how they operate

While gangs are not prevalent in Garden City, parents need to understand the role they play in the lives of our children, especially when teens go to parties in neighboring communities.

We encourage all parents, as well as junior and senior high school age students accompanied by a parent, to attend and become more aware of this growing problem.
