Nassau All-County Art Exhibition

2009-03-06 / Community

The Art Supervisors Association is proud to welcome students, parents, art educators, administrators and community members to the 2009 Nassau All-County Art Exhibition to be held on Sunday, March 22, from 12:00 - 4:00PM in the Ruth S. Harley University Center, Adelphi University, Garden City.

This exhibition honors more than 1,093 Kindergarten through twelfth grade students who have demonstrated excellence in a wide variety of two-dimensional visual art forms inclusive of drawing, painting, printmaking, computer graphics, and photography. All of the outstanding pieces were produced in alignment with the New York State Standards for Visual Arts. More than 380 art educators from 43 Nassau County school districts submitted student artwork for this exhibit.

Association members and affiliates work hard to nourish and support quality visual art instruction. This showcase of exemplary student artwork is but one of the missions of our association. We are honored to provide a venue that enables our visitors the opportunity to appreciate the creativity, imagination and skill that is produced by innovative K-12 sequential visual arts education, for which we strongly advocate. Our goals also focus on nurturing young artists; therefore we are also pleased to be able offer scholarships to select senior students for the third year in a row.

Please take this wonderful opportunity to enjoy the artistic endeavors of all our student artists. We would like to acknowledge Professor David Hornung, Chairperson of Art and Art History at Adelphi University, for his help in facilitating this exhibit. We also extend special thanks to our members and the many art educators who provide the dedication and talent that inspire our young artists.
