The Garden City Centennial Soccer Club is looking for qualified coaches to head our new U10 teams that will tryout in June, 2009. The birthdates for the children on these teams will fall between August 1, 1999 and December 31, 2000. League Play for these teams will begin in September of 2009. More ... Congratulations to all of the Boys and Girls that participated in the JrNBA/JrWNBA Skills Challenge sponsored by SINGULAR. The first place finishers are for Girls 9/10 year olds Alision LaMonica, 11/12 Elizabeth McGannon, For Boys 9/10 Joseph Pizzingrillo, 11/12 Dylan Tobias, and 13/14 Kyle Skramko. More ... The Garden City Wings Middle School Ice Hockey team registered two wins over north shore rivals Cold Spring Harbor and Manhasset during the first weekend of February. The Middle School Wings have a 10 - 5 - 1 overall record as they head into the final months of play of the '08 - '09 winter season. More ... The 5th grade boys from St. Anne's are heading for the playoffs. Their first round game will be contested at St. Aidan's Gym on Saturday, Feb. 28th vs St. Peter's. The boys finish atop the division with a 10 - 2 record. One loss coming on a last second shot. Each of the boys improved their basketball skills throughout the year and the team enjoyed many lopsided victories. More ... The Garden City Centennial Soccer Club will be opening their spring season on Saturday April 4th. Girls play 9:00AM until 1:00PM and boys play from 1:00PM until 5:00PM (with the exception of Pre-K, Kindergarten and 1st grade). The registration deadline is January 31st. More ... SEE "SLEEPING BEAUTY" PERFORMED AT CLUETT HALL The Recreation Department will present a showing of Plaza Theatrical Productions, Inc. rendition of "Sleeping Beauty" on Sunday, March 8th at St. Paul's Cluett Hall. This family show will take place at 1pm and last approximately one hour. Plaza Theatrical Productions is well known for their children's series of plays. More ... The Garden City Centennial Soccer Club will give a referee course to those in seventh grade or older who are interested in becoming an intramural soccer referee for the spring season. In order to become a Centennial referee, you MUST attend both classes of the referee course and pass a written test at the end of the course. The course will be given from 7 to 8:30 p.m. More ... |
