ON JANUARY 22, someone stole an Ipod and its case from an unattended handbag at the GCHS. $500... ON JANUARY 25, PO Caputo arrested a 49-year-old Hempstead man for allegedly shopliftung 13 watches, a diaper bag, and 18 assorted children's clothing items at Sears... PO HENNESSY arrested a motorist at Clinton Rd. on January 24 after that motorist was allegedly DWI (.11 %). Other charges included the failure to stop at a red light, equipment violatoins, and no insurance... A TRUCK STOP was conducted at NHP Road with 12 trucks inspected, 25 tickets issued, and 1 truck taken out of service...ON JANUARY 16, a handbag containing credit cards was taken from an unlocked car at Community Park... ON JANUARY 21, PO McCarthy arrested a 61-year-old Bronx man at Wachovia Bank, 1001 Franklin Avenue, for a forgery, possession of a forged instrument, attempted grand larceny, and identity theft, after the man presented a $4700 check with another person's name, and a forged driver's license and American Express card with that same person's name...

FIRE RESPONSES:

BURNT FOOD ACTIVATED a smoke alarm at the Waldorf School on January 22... A VACUUM TRUCK that had removed dirt from an excavated area at Second Street, caused minor dirt in the air there on the same day... FD SHUT DOWN a steam pipe at the GC Middle School on January 24... ON THAT SAME day, a motorist alerted the fire department that water was coming from a building at Franklin Avenue and the FD responded to the scene. A water pipe had burst there and the water in the building was shut down...
