Dr. Kathryn Stanley Podwell, who will speak on "Your Genes and You" at the February 2nd meeting of Garden City AAUW The American Association of University Women (AAUW) Garden City branch on Monday, February 2, at 7:30 p.m. is delighted to hold a program, "Your Genes and You" at the Garden City Library. During this session learn about genetic issues of concern to you, including DNA technology - methods for studying and manipulating genetic material. The presenter will be Garden City resident, Kathryn Stanley Podwall, a professor of biology at Nassau Community College.

Professor Podwall holds membership in many organizations including: the New York Academy of Science, with life membership in the American Society of Mammalogists, The National Association of Biology Teachers, and the National Science Teachers Association. She has served as a past president of Soroptimist International of Nassau County and Nassau Community College's Women's Faculty Association. This biological educator reviews books for the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) and acts as a liaison between Nassau Community College and AAUW and also for the American Association of Women in Community Colleges.
