L-R: Mari Hill from the G.C. Recreation Dept. and Muriel Urban, Garden Department Chairlady. The Garden Department of the Community Club of Garden City and Hempstead presented a very successful program by Mari Hill of the Garden City Recreation Department this past month and it was very well received. Now they are getting out their pails and shovels for their next program on "Our Beach Environment." This program, open to all club members and their guests, will take place on Tuesday, February 10 th at 1:30 p.m. at the Garden City Casino. The speaker, Annie McIntyre, an Environmental Educator of New York State with the Office of Parks, Recreation, and Historic Preservation is assigned to their office at Jones Beach State Park.

Ms. McIntyre will discuss dune ecology, endangered species, and the giants of the sea. Her office on the Atlantic Ocean also includes bay beaches, as well as salt marshes and sand beaches. Do join us and learn all about what our shore life is and how we can enjoy and preserve it. Stay for the Tea Hour and get to know our speaker, who will answer any of your questions. Bring a guest and double your enjoyment.
