WPOA January Electors Meeting

The Western Property Owners Association (WPOA) will hold its annual Residents Electors' meeting on Tuesday, January 20, at 8 p.m. at Homestead School. The WPOA's Nominating Committee will present its selection for Village Trustee, Mr. Laurence Quinn, to succeed Trustee Gerard Lundquist, who is not seeking reelection. All residents of the Western Section of the Village who are 18 years or older are eligible to participate in the Electors' meeting.

The WPOA is now seeking applicants for positions as Directors (two-year terms), beginning in April 2009. Any resident of the West who is interested in joining the WPOA Board of Directors is urged to submit a letter of interest and a resume to: Mr. Tom Whalen, WPOA Secretary, 41 Dartmouth Street, Garden City, NY 11530. The deadline for submission of applications is Friday, March 23.

Immediately following the January 20 Electors' meeting, the WPOA will begin its general meeting. The agenda includes reports from the WPOA directors and Village and School Board trustees on current topics of interest in the Village. As always, the WPOA Board of Directors invites residents to bring issues of concern to be discussed with their fellow residents and elected officials.

The Western Section of Garden City is bordered on the north by the main line of the LIRR, on the east by the west side of Tanners Pond and Edgemere Roads, on the south by Cambridge Avenue and on the west by Jefferson Street.
