Msgr. Joseph DeGrocco To Speak

A presentation by Msgr. Joseph DeGrocco will take place on Wednesday, January 14th at St. Joseph Church in Garden City. This presentation will be held in the St. Agnes Room beginning at 7:30PM. Msgr. DeGrocco's topic will be: "A Look at the Historical Development of the Mass". Msgr. DeGrocco is Professor of Liturgy and Director of Liturgical Formation at the Seminary of the Immaculate Conception in Huntington. He holds degrees from Hofstra University, the University of Notre Dame, and the Seminary of the Immaculate Conception. His presentation will deepen our understanding and appreciation of the Mass by looking at the historical development of how the C hurch has celebrated the Eucharist over the centuries. Participants will be given insights into what the unchangeable elements of the Mass are, and what are the elements that have developed and changed over time. The talk will enrich the understanding of what it means to fully and actively participate at Mass. This event is sponsored by the Adult Faith Formation Board of St. Joseph Church. There is no charge. All interested adults are invited to attend.
