ADULT YOGA IN CLUETT HALL

Our fall session of yoga will begin the week of January 12th. Connie McKnight, our certified yoga instructor, has designed classes with all ages in mind. Each class is 55 minutes long. All classes are held in Cluett Hall at St. Paul's. Any resident of the Inc. Village of Garden City is invited to join these relaxing classes.

The course schedule is as follows:

Mondays - All level Yoga at 7:30 p.m. - 15 Classes for $75

Wednesdays - All level Yoga at 10:30 a.m. - 16 Classes for $80

Thursdays - All level Yoga at 11:30 a.m. - 16 Classes for $80

preschool arts and

crafts begins

The Recreation Department will begin its first session of Preschool Arts and Crafts the week of January 5th. This six week program is held at St. Paul's Cluett Hall and is open to children ages 3 1/2 to 5 years old who are residents of the Inc. Village of Garden City.

Children interested in this program may register for either Monday at 12:15 p.m. or Tuesday at 12:00 p.m. The cost of each 45 minute, six week session is $30.

The child registering MUST be 3 1/2 by January in order to register for a session. To register, please visit the Recreation Office at 108 Rockaway Avenue.

preschool sports sampler

The Garden City Recreation Department is proud to announce it will offer a Pee-Wee All Sports Sampler program this winter for children ages 4 and 5 who are residents of the Inc. Village of Garden City. This six week program will begin the week of January 5th. The program has been designed to provide an opportunity to try a wide variety of sports with basic instruction.

It will be held in the St. Paul's Field House according to the following schedule:

Tuesday at 1 p.m.

Thursday at 1 p.m.

This program will run for one hour and will be instructional, incorporating new skills and free play in a non-competitive atmosphere. A different sport will be offered each week.

The price for this six week program will be $48.

To register, please visit the Recreation Offices at 108 Rockaway Avenue. Please note- the child MUST be four by the start of the program in order to participate.

Middle school and high school open gym

The Garden City Recreation Department is pleased to announcce that this winter we will sponsor an Open Gym program for basketball and volleyball for Middle and High School aged students. This program will be conducted weekday afternoons after school in the St. Paul's Field House.

Our Winter Open Gym Program will provide the students an opportunity to participate in after school activities in a supervised setting.

This program will begin on Wednesday December 3rd and will be open every Wednesday and Thursday from 3:30 p.m. until 6 p.m.

PLEASE NOTE: This is a time set aside for middle and high school students to enjoy our facility while having fun with their friends. NO organized practices may take place at this time. Since the Recreation Department will provide supervision, no adults will be allowed in this field house at this time.

MEN'S SATURDAY BASKETBALL PROGRAM

Our Saturday Men's Basketball Program will begin again in the Middle School South gym on Saturday, January 3rd. The Gym is open to residents ages 18 and older for pickup basketball games. Doors open at 8:30 and play continues until 11:30 a.m. This program will continue through Saturday, February 14th.

& open house play

There are still openings available in the 7 p.m. session of our intramural platform program, which is held Wednesday evenings. This program is geared to beginners and is a learn and play program. The cost of the program is $110. Please visit the Recreation Offices at 108 Rockaway Avenue to register.

2nd session of children's tennis set to begin

on january 4th

The Recreation Department's 2nd session of children's tennis will begin the week of January 5th. The following classes still have openings for this session:

PeeWee (55 minutes)- ages 5 and 6 with no experience

Monday at 4:30 p.m.

Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.

Wednesday 3:30 or 4:30 p.m.

Novice (55 minutes) - ages 6 and 7 with previous experience

Tuesday at 3:30 p.m.

Wednesday at 5:30 p.m.

Thursday at 3:30 or 5:30 p.m.

Friday at 3:30 p.m.

Junior (55 minutes) - ages 8 to 11 with little or no experience

Monday at 4:30 p.m.

Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.

Wednesday at 3:30 p.m.

Saturday at 12:30 p.m.

Sunday at 11 a.m.

Junior Advanced (1 hour 25 minutes) - ages 8 to 11 with experience

Monday at 5:30 p.m.

Wednesday at 3:30 or 5 p.m.

Saturday at 12:30 p.m.

Senior (55 minutes) - ages 12-18 with little or no experience

Tuesday at 5:30 p.m.

Wednesday at 5:30 p.m.

Friday at 4:30 p.m.

Saturday at 12:30 p.m.

Sunday at noon

Senior Advanced ( 1 hour, 25 minutes) ages 12-18 with previous experience
