Greens Day workers Nadia Hazarian, Muriel Urban, Chairlady of the event, and Alice Dillon. The Garden Department of The Community Club of Garden City and Hempstead is not a group to rest on its laurels. They will follow up their Greens Day held early in December when they made sprays and arrangements to decorate the Veteran's Memorials, 9/11 Memorial, Firemen's Memorial, and arrangements for both the Garden City Library and the Hempstead Library as well as our own Village Hall, Police, Fire and Recreation Departments.

Each year, we admire the beautiful flowers and exotic plantings around the Garden City Pool as well as our Senior Center and now the Garden Department will present Mari Hill of the Recreation Department who is responsible for all that beauty.

Mari grew up in Garden City and has had a lifelong love and talent for horticulture which she puts to good use around town. Mari will tell us how she chooses the plants, how she comes up with new groupings and fresh ideas each year that delight our eyes and give us thoughts of doing the same in our own gardens. There will be plenty of time to ask questions so do mark your calendars for Tuesday, January 13th at 1:30 p.m. at the Garden City Casino and prepare to enjoy. All members of the Club are invited to attend and guests are welcome.
