Three Arrests In Drug Investigation

2009-01-02 / Community

Garden City Police Commissioner Ernest Cipullo announces that a lengthy joint investigation by the Garden City and Hempstead Police Departments has resulted in the arrest of three subjects for criminal possession of controlled substances (drugs).

During the past few months, the Garden City and Hempstead Police Departments conducted a joint investigation upon receiving reports of local youths from both communities purchasing alcohol and drugs from the premises of the Clinton Market located on Clinton Street. The investigative units of the departments conducted controlled narcotic purchases at this location. The departments then obtained a search warrant for the premises. The warrant was executed by the investigative units of the Garden City and Hempstead Police Departments and during the process, cocaine, crack/cocaine and marijuana were removed from the premise. In addition, three subjects, a male/20 from Hempstead, a male, age 33, from Central Islip, and a male, age 26, from Patchogue were arrested and charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, an A-Felony.

Commissioner Cipullo states "These arrests and drug seizures are another example of the cooperation between the Garden City Police Department and the Hempstead Police Department in the investigation and removal of subjects whose pose a serious threat to the youth of both communities."
