Garden City Nursery School's Pot Luck Dinner

Director, Ann Amengual with her well-deserved gold statue
On Friday, October 3rd, Garden City Nursery School was completely transformed into a glamorous, red carpet event for its Annual Pot Luck Dinner. The hospitality committee, headed up by Kathy Martinus and Delayne Soma, created a movie premiere theme complete with an original movie, awards, posters, and more.

Parents, teachers and staff gathered for a fun-filled evening of food and entertainment. The highlight was a touching movie entitled, "In Children's Steps," featuring the true stars of the nursery school -- its students! Another highpoint of the evening was the spirited auction featuring many exciting entertainment packages. Stacey Stankey did an outstanding job coaxing top-dollar bids from those who attended. The evening came to a close when teachers and staff were awarded their very own gold statues in appreciation for all the hard work they do.

GCNS Annual Pot Luck Dinner is just one of many school events where parents have the opportunity to socialize with one another in a fun, relaxed atmosphere. Committee members are already working hard on plans for the upcoming Casino Night (November 14th), Holiday Emporium (December 2nd), a live production of Beauty and the Beast at Adelphi University (January 25th), and Spring Cocktail Party (Early May).
