AdoptaPlatoon Soldier Effort "Stockings From Santa" Annual Drive

Girl Scouts from Brownie Troop #1356 were all smiles after making Christmas stockings and filling them with treats, toiletries and letters to the soldiers.
Last year with your tremendous support and outpouring of generosity we sent over 600 Holiday Stockings to our Troops deployed in Iraq and Afghanistan. This holiday season we hope to double that. The parcels will not end the war but they do boost morale and remind our enlisted men and women that they are remembered.

The AdoptaPlatoon Soldier Support Effort founded in 1998 is a nonprofit 501C-3 organization managed nationwide by volunteer mothers to provide a better deployment quality of life, lift morale, and assist military families. The AAP creates campaigns that meet the needs of military requests, establish special projects for holidays, and assign individual morale lifting mail support to service members of all branches of the US Military serving our Nation around the world.

Please help in supporting our troops overseas by donating a holiday stocking or gift bag filled with goodies such as beef jerky, sunflower seeds, dried fruit, packaged tuna, dvd movies, baby wipers, hygiene products, cookies, gum, chap stick, sun glasses, hard candy, dark socks, Dr. Scholl's shoe inserts-gel pads, hand held games, playing cards, word search books, snack foods, magazines, paperback books, Frisbees etc.

The troops love getting packages!
Please include a note or holiday greeting; your return address is optional.

Stockings or gift items can be dropped off anytime prior to November 15th at 37 Kensington Road, Garden City. There is no need to call; a box is on the front porch. For more information visit www.adoptaplatoon.org or call Suzanne Fischer at 739-5570.

Please remember to support our Soldiers because every contribution, no matter how small, does make a difference.

Thank you.
