GC Thunder 7 Play Tough At East Rockaway

Thunder Defense is always ready
It was an early morning for the Moscatiello 7 year olds who traveled to East Rockaway for the second game of the year. With East Rockaway wearing the familiar looking Silver and Black of the NFL's Oakland Raiders it promised to be a tough hard fought battle.

Garden City won the opening coin toss and elected to have the ball first. The Thunder 7s quickly set the tone, looking like the St. Louis Rams "greatest show on turf" GC put up three touchdowns during the game. In the words of Vince Lombardi the offensive line got a "seal here and a seal here" and opened huge running lanes for the backs. Kevin "LB" LeBlanc, Albert Severini, Aidan Pfaff, Reece Hungerford, TJ Schmitt and Angelo "Moose" Demiris were outstanding at the point of attack on the offensive line.

Solid in the back field once again with game breaking speed to the outside were Harry Murphy, Steve Baymack and Joe Scattareggia. Working hard up the middle and providing powerful lead blocks were Tyler "Tiger" Sandoval, Collin Plunkett and Brady Sullivan.

Off to the races early for a TD
Not to be outdone the East Rockaway Raiders were equally tough with a bruising running game that took our GC boys to task. However the famed Dallas Cowboys "Doomsday Defense" came back to life in the form of this GC Thunder 7 defensive unit with big plays being made up front by Christian Genussa, Brian Boland, Campbell Munn, Kyle Merritts, Steven Haass, Joey Atherall and Timmy Curran.

When needed the most our Defensive Backs went into lock down mode, using the right pursuit angles and wrapping when making tackles, Nick Rosato, Steven Moscatiello and Jackson Bautch made sure no one broke for a long touchdown.

The boys are on a roll and ready for their next game, playing under the lights at Mineola Friday the 26th at 6:00pm, Tully Park.

Go Thunder!!!!
