Raiders Enjoy Home Victory

On Saturday, September 13th, the boys U-11 Raiders soccer team earned an impressive 3 to 2 home victory over a very talented squad from Garden City Park. The hard fought win was the result of a relentless effort by the Raiders, who overcame two deficits en route to their victory over a previously undefeated team. Midfield play was controlled by James DeSousa, Brian Haeffner, Owen Lucano, John Mackey and Timmy Schmelzinger, and the offense was paced by Mike Franco, Matt Lisoski and Mark Luglio. Solid defensive efforts were put forth by Dylan Laderoute, Jack Riceman and Jack Rogers. Jack Fenty and Owen Prendergast alternated in goal, each making a number of spectacular saves that kept the Raiders' hopes alive. Despite a number of roster changes from last year, the Raiders have quickly gelled as a team and a very promising Fall season lies ahead. Go Raiders!
