Free Breast Cancer Support Groups

The Adelphi NY Statewide Breast Cancer program is offering new support groups. There is no cost for any group; however pre-registration is required. For information or to sign up, call Sandi Kafenbaum, LCSW, at 516-877-4314, or the Breast Cancer Hotline at 800-877-8077.

For Women Newly Diagnosed with Breast Cancer - Thursday evenings.

An evening group will meet weekly for eight weeks from 7pm to 8:30 pm, tentatively beginning on September 25.

For Young Women with Breast Cancer - Thursday evenings.

An evening group will meet weekly for eight weeks from 7 pm to 8:30 pm, tentatively beginning September 25.

For Women with Breast Cancer - Tuesday mornings.

A daytime group will meet weekly for eight weeks, from 11-12:30 pm, tentatively beginning on October 2.

For Women with Metastatic Breast Cancer - Thursday evenings.

This ongoing group meets weekly from 7 pm to 8:30 pm.

The Close Knit Group-

meets monthly.

This ongoing daytime support and handicraft group (knitting, crocheting and/or sewing) for women with breast cancer meets once a month on Thursday afternoon (on the second Thursday of the month) from 1:30 pm to 3 pm.

For Spanish Speaking Women with Breast Cancer - meets monthly.

This ongoing daytime group will meet monthly on Thursday mornings from 10 to 11:30 am, on the 1st Thursday of each month.

All groups meet at Adelphi University School of Social Work in Garden City.
