There are two spots remaining for the Recreation Dept's trip to West Point on September 23rd. The cost of this trip will be $89 and a $25 deposit made payable to "Prime Time Travel" is needed to secure your reservation. To reserve a seat, visit the Recreation Administrative Offices at 108 Rockaway Ave.

GAZEBO CONCERTS ANNOUNCED

Garden City Recreation happily announces the start of our summer Gazebo concert series on Thursday, June 26th. Our concerts are held at the Gazebo on the corner of Hilton and Stewart Avenues at 7:15 p.m. every Thursday during the summer and are free to all attending.

In the event of foul weather, the concert is still held but moved indoors to St. Paul's Cluett Hall at 295 Stewart Avenue.

The concerts for this summer are as follows:

July 24 Obla-di, Bla-da - A Beatles Tribute

July 31 The Clusters - 50's, 60's and 70's music featuring their hit "Darling Can't You Tell"

August 7 The Village Music Makers - the Village's favorite "big band"

August 14The Duprees

So come, bring a chair or blanket, and join us for a wonderful evening!

JOIN US FOR A DAY CRUISE AND A VISIT TO THE FORBES GALLERY

Climb aboard a glass enclosed Bateaux on an enjoyable luncheon cruise along the Hudson River followed by a visit to the Forbes Gallery (Fabrege eggs, toy soldiers, etc.) sponsored by the Recreation Office through Prime Time Travel. We will travel by coach bus on October 7th for this day trip. The trip will cost $75. To reserve a seat for this trip, please visit the Recreation Department's Administrative offices at 108 Rockaway Avenue. A deposit of $25 is required in check form and the check should be made payable to Prime Time Travel.

take a tour of the

waldorf astoria

On September 9th, the Recreation Department, in partnership with Prime Time Travel, will take a trip to the city to the Waldorf Astoria. We will tour this world famous landmark,visiting several of their key showplace rooms and even the posh Waldorf Towers. We will then end with a delicious luncheon buffet at Oscar's Restaurant. The trip will cost $89 and a $25 deposit in the form of a check made payable to Prime Time Travel is necessary now to reserve a seat for this trip. Space is limited to 20 people. To reserve a seat, please visit the Recreation Department's Administrative Offices next door to St. Paul's Senior Center at 108 Rockaway Avenue.

TAKE A TOUR OF THE UNITED NATIONS

Garden City Recreation, through Prime Time Travel, is sponsoring a trip to the United Nations on Tuesday, October 21st. We will travel by coach bus to the UN and first enjoy a buffet lunch in the Delegates Dining Room. After, we will have a guided tour of the UN, which is to include visits to the General Assembly and the Security Council. We will also have time to view artwork and gifts presented to the UN by foreign councils.

The cost of this great trip will be $85.

PLEASE NOTE - JACKETS ARE REQUIRED FOR MEN. NO JEANS OR SNEAKERS PLEASE.

Weekly Schedule for

St. Paul's senior center

St Paul's Senior Center is located in the cottages at St. Paul's Recreation Complex and is open Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. for any resident of Garden City aged 60 or older and the guest. The weekly schedule is as follows:

MONDAYS - Excercise with Felicia at 10 a.m., followed by Bingo

WEDNESDAYS - Open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. - Felicia will exercise with our seniors at 10 a.m. Brown bag lunch will follow at 11:30 a.m.

THURSDAYS- Exercise with Felicia at 10 a.m.
