Michael P. Finnerty of Garden City, was one of 521 seniors who graduated from Colby College on May 25, receiving a bachelor of arts degree at commencement on the lawn of Miller Library in Waterville, Maine. Michael majored in chemistry and economics. He is the son of Michael and Lynn Finnerty of Garden City.

Ryan M. Joyce, a member of the class of 2009 at Colgate University, has been named a Dana Scholar in recognition of superior academic achievement as well as demonstrated leadership in the campus community.

Selection as a Dana Scholar is a significant honor. The awards were established in 1965 by the late Charles A. Dana.

Ryan is the son of Mr. Michael Joyce and Mrs. Kathleen M. Joyce of Garden City.
