Music In The Cathedral Series

The finale for the Music in the Cathedral Series for the 2007-08 season will take place on Sunday, June 1 at 4 p.m. in the Cathedral of the Incarnation located at on Cathedral Avenue between Fifth and Sixth Streets. The recital will be played by Parker Kitterman, former Associate Organist and Choirmaster at the Cathedral. Parker is currently a student finishing a Master's Degree at the Yale Institute of Sacred Music.

The recital will include works by J.S. Bach, Naji Hakim Charles Tournemire. Hakim is noted for his compositions for the organ and his improvisation skills. Mr. Kitterman will be playing parts of his composition Le Bien - Aime (The Beloved). Tournemire was a French organist who was also most famous for his improvisations. The program will also include Parker Kitterman's own improvisations on a theme of Edgar Bainton "...and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes..." So come and enjoy a fine musical program in the beauty of a Gothic cathedral right here in the heart of Garden City.
