Village Sports Our department has again secured tickets on consignment for several amusement parks in our area. The parks and ticket prices are as fllows:

There is no difference in price for adults or children. These prices reflect a discount on the "walk up" admission. For more information or to purchase tickets, please visit the Recreation Office at 108 Rockaway Avenue. NEW SESSION OF YOGA Our spring session of yoga will begin the week of April 28th. Connie McKnight, our certified yoga instructor, has designed classes with all ages in mind. Each class is 55 minutes long. All classes are held in Cluett Hall at St. Paul's. Any resident of the Inc. Village of Garden City is invited to join these relaxing classes. The course schedule is as follows:
Mondays at 7:30 p.m. 8 Classes for $40 Thursdays at 11:30 a.m. 9 Classes for $45

PRESCHOOL CAMP Our Preschool Camp is a fun way for children ages 3.5 to 5 years old who are resident of the Village of Garden City to spend the summer. Children who attend this camp must be 3.5 years by the start of their session and proof of age is required. Arts and Crafts, music, nature, and stories will fill the 1 1/2 hour class. This class will be held in St. Paul's Cluett Hall from 10:30 a.m. to noon and will be taught by Patricia Haas Leonenko, preschool teacher at St. Joseph's School. The cost of a one week session will be $75.

Village of Garden City and entering 2ne through 6th grades in September, 2008. Come join us and learn what it takes to pass, dribble, and shoot in this camp. This camp will be held in St. Paul's field house the week of June 30 according to the following schedule: Entering 2nd and 3rd grades: 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Entering 4-6 grades: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The fee for this camp will be $75. Village of Garden City. It is a basic camp that will teach the techniques of catching, throwing and shooting through fun drills. The children will also learn the rules of the games through scrimmaging. Our camp will be held at Stewart Field from 9:30 a.m. to noon the week of July 7th and the week of July 14th (Monday through Thursday). The cost of this four day camp will be $85. This four day camp will stress skill development as well as the rules of the game. It will be held Monday through Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to noon and will cost $85. YOUTH SOCCER CAMP This instructional program will be offered for Boys and Girls Ages 6 through 12.Youngsters MUST be six by the start of the camp AND entering first grade in September 2008 in order to register for this camp. PROOF OF AGE WILL BE REQUIRED. The Two Hour Session will run from 9:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m., at a cost of $75 and will focus on individual skill development. The five hour session will run from 9:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. at a cost of $160. The five hour session will include an hour lunch break and recreation session supervised by the Soccer Camp Staff, to be followed by full field games. The purpose of the program is to provide a fun-filled soccer learning experience incorporating the values of sportsmanship. Youngsters will be placed in age-appropriate groups with the Instructor/Camper ratio not to exceed 1-10. Safe playing techniques and team cooperation will also be stressed. Each participant will receive a T-Shirt. EQUIPMENT NEEDED: Cleats or sneakers, shin guards, and a soccer ball and lunch with drink if attending full day program PLEASE NOTE: This program will now be held at St. Paul's Athletic Facility

TENNIS CAMPS FOR AGES 4 - 18 The Recreation Department's Tennis Camp program offers children aged seven and up who are residents of the Incorporated Village of Garden City an opportunity to learn or advance their tennis skills while working with experienced tennis pros in a fun setting. Our camps are set by age and children will be grouped according to ability within their camp. The age of the child at the start of the session will determine which session the child may attend and proof of age may be required. All camps will be held at the Community Park Tennis Facility. Please read the information below to determine which camp your child is eligible to attend. PLEASE NOTE: EACH CHILD MAY SIGN UP FOR A MAXIMUM OF TWO SESSIONS Equipment needed: flat soled sneakers and a tennis racket All Tennis Camps will follow the same session dates: SessionAJune 30 - July 3 BJuly 7 - 10 CJuly 14 - 17 DJuly 21 - 24 EJuly 28 - 31 FAugust 4 - 7 GAugust 11 - 14 HAugust 18 - 21 PEE WEE TENNIS - for ages 4 and 5. Skill are learned by fun and easy to do drills taught by our tennis professionals. Time: 9-10 a.m. Cost: $45 NOVICE CAMP - For ages 6 and 7. This camp will teach serving, rallying, and the basics of a tennis game, keeping it fun for the younger tennis set. Time: 2:30 - 4:00 p.m. Cost: $ 75 JUNIOR CAMP - For ages 8 - 11. For all levels of experience, this 2 1/4 hour camp will group players by ability so that everyone can move to the next level. Time: 10 a.m. - 12:15 p.m. Cost: $90 JUNIOR CAMP PLUS - For the child aged 8 - 11 that is looking for a full day of tennis. This camp will tennis instruction in the morning, followed by lunch time and a special activity, then ending the day with tennis matches. Children must bring their lunch to this camp. Time: 10 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. Cost: $200 SENIOR CAMP - For the student, ages 12 to 18, who is either looking to learn to play tennis or would like to get better at the game. For further information or to register for this session, please visit the Recreation Offices at 108 Rackaway Ave. adult swim at adelphi The last day for adult swim at Adelphi will be Thursday, May 15th. We hope all our swimmers enjoyed the winter session. We will begin again in late Sepember. adult programs at the field house Our adult field house programs will end on Thursday, May 22nd.
