Barbara (Baylis) Peguillan

Barbara (Baylis) Peguillan, a former resident of Garden City who was born and raised in Floral Park, died recently. She was a descendant of Ephraim Bailey, who built one of the first houses in Floral Park. The Bailey name was changed to Baylis in the early 1800s.

Mrs. Peguillan was the wife of the late George; mother of Susan Doyle and Paul Peguillan; mother-in-law of William and Helena; and grandmother of Perry, Laura and Haley.

A funeral Mass was said on May 12 at Our Lady of Victory R.C. Church. Interment followed at Holy Rood Cemetery. Arrangements were handled by the Thomas F. Dalton Funeral Home in Floral Park. In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to St. Catherine Laboure Manor, 1750 Stockton Street, Jacksonville, Florida 32204.
