Garden City Boys Varsity Lacrosse

Between April 30th and May 6th Garden City's boys varsity lacrosse team has played three games. The first came against the Carey Seahawks on Wednesday afternoon April 30th at Garden City High School. The Trojans won the game 11-3. Scoring two goals each for the Trojans were Dan Savage, Will Fuller (two assists), and Matt Losardo. Rounding out the Trojans' scoring were Kevin Rose, Gavin Crisafulli, Hayden Fries, Steve Hucke and Tom Gordon score one goal each. Trojans goalkeeper, Brian McCullough, made seven saves. His teammate Brendan Engelke had two saves and Chris Connors had one.

On Saturday afternoon, May 3rd the Trojans faced some tough opposition form The South Side Cyclones at Skelos fields in Rockville Centre. The score was tied 4-4 at the end of the first half and then South Side took a 7-4 lead by the end of the third quarter. Garden City trailed 9-6 in the fourth quarter but scored three goals in a row to tie the score at nine. Francis McDonough scored the tying goal with just 1:18 left in the game. As time was winding down, and with one second left, South Side's Colin Serling scored behind his back to give the Cyclones their first ever victory over Garden City. Garden City's Dan Savage, Will Fuller and Francis McDonough scored two goals each for the Trojans. Matt Losardo, Kevin Rose and Jon Muscarella scored one goal each. Brian McCullough made 14 saves.

The team regrouped and came back in true form with a 16-3 win over Division on Tuesday afternoon May 6th. Leading the scoring for the Trojans were Matt Losardo and Dan Savage with three goals each. Also scoring for Garden City were: Hayden Fries, 2; Kevin Rose, 2; Brian Kentfield, 1; Ryan Lynch, 1; Steve Hucke, 1; Joe Alleva, 1; John Betts, 1 and Brian Fischer, 1. Francis McDonough had three assists. Brian McCullough made 4 saves. Brendan Engelke had four saves and Chris Connors made two.
