| After 3 weeks of divisional play soccer the Garden City Destroyers U-11 boys team and the East Meadow Thunderbolts were the only two undefeated teams left in their division. In what was billed as the divisional title match of the season, against an opponent that in its first 3 games scored 13 goals and let up only 2, the G.C. Destroyers beat the East Meadow Thunderbolts on Saturday May 3rd by a resounding score of 4-0. The game featured fast moving attacks and exceptional defense.
Forwards Conor Sproat, Nick Sarkis,John Evangelista, Mark Oellerich, and Chris Gormley were able to keep the pressure on the East Meadow defense and their goalie with continuous shots on goal. Mid-fielders Michael Brennan, Jack Brennan, Andrew Mohacsi, and Matt Mullahey with their quick passing were able to transition the ball up the field to the forwards.
However, East Meadow was not to be denied, showing why they too were undefeated, East Meadow was able to put together several offensive attacks but that's where the Destroyer's defensive unit made up of Brandon Choi, Brandon Punturo, Darius Iraj and Matt Jones quickly jumped in and made life miserable for the Thunderbolt's offense. Aggressive ball play and big clearing kicks by goalie Nick De Moura turned away most of these attacks. Destroyer's goalie

| Nick De Moura made numerous diving saves and on one occasion got his hands up quick enough to stop a one-on-one point blank shot by one of the Thunderbolts. Coaches Mike Mullahey, Tom Sproat and Tony Sarkis were extremely proud of the team and its big win on Saturday.
Goals were scored by John Evangelista, Jack Brennan and two by Matt Mullahey. This win gives the Destroyers sole possession of 1st place in the division. The Destroyers look forward to next weeks match-up at home against the Elmont Renegades.
