Girls 3rd Grade Grey Lacrosse Defeat Wantagh

Kathleen Griffith runs past Wantagh defender as Mairead and Celia look on
It's exciting to watch this team get better each week. The girls defeated Wantagh by the score 10-1. The girls dominated the game by playing great defense, picking up the vast majority of ground balls, and completing a high percentage of their passes. The girls jumped out to a 6-0 first half led on goals by six different scorers! Caroline Munn, Kathleen Griffith, Katherine Galzerano, Celia Concannon, Megan Seel and Claire Gallic all scored. The goals were all assisted with Celia, Megan, and Katherine each picking up two assists. The first half shut out was fueled by stellar defense form Catherine Maher, Marlee Rich, Kelly George, Mairead Pfaff, and 2 saves by goalie Alexis Pagonis. Emily Clarke and Hannah Ardito were particular strong with ground ball pick ups that gave GC many possessions.

The girls continued to play at a high level in the second half with accurate passing and many caught balls. The homes (attack) of Keeley Scott, Alexis Pagonis, Caroline Cudahy, Amanda Stober and Colleen Adams moved the ball very well. Goals were scored by Kathleen Griffith, Kelly George, Amanda Stober, and Alexis Pagonis. Amanda added an assist and Kelly had 2 assists.
