Garden City Rams 5th Grade Maroon Team On a Roll

Brian Colamussi prepares to clear the ball downfield
The Garden City 5th Grade Maroon Team played a tough Cold Spring Harbor Team on St. Paul's and walked away with a well earned 8-6 victory. It was an 3:00 PM game on a unexpectedly hot Sunday afternoon but the Maroon Team was up to the challenge.

Brian Colamussi, normally an offensive and defensive force, but his short stick away to play goalie this week and he did not disappoint. Brian's stellar play defending the Garden City net was not unaided as Peter Kelly, Carson Bauer and Brendan Digan did their best to limit the scoring opportunities of the Cold Spring Harbor attackman. The Maroon midfielders controlled the pace of the game from the outset. Will Glenn, Jack Tigh, Tom Wright, Patrick Gibbons, Brogan Mahon, Tim Dolan and Kyle Bratton were able to keep the ball out of the GC defensive end and constantly applying pressure on the Cold Spring Harbor goalie. The attackers, Kieran McGoldrick, Thomas Mulligan, Chris Moscatiello, Ryan McCartney, Brian Shannon, Nick Mourikis were never standing still, always looking to find open space and created a defensive nightmare for the Cold Spring Harbor defense. The Maroon team looks forward to the return of Mike Crapotta from injury.
