In Memoriam Lucille Holzer
Lucille Holzer Till passed away at Westminister Canterbury of the Blue Ridge Health Care Center on May 6, 2008 at the age of 102. She was born on August 19, 1905 in Kendallville, Indiana where she spent her formative years. As a student at Indiana University she was a member of Pi Beta Phi sorority. She was married to Charles II Till, of Waterloo, Indiana from 1931 to 1980 when he predeceased her. Lucille and Charles made their home in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn and moved to Garden City, New York in 1936 where Lucille continued to live until moving to Westminster Canterbury of the Blue Ridge in 2001. While residing in Garden City, Lucille was a member of The Cathedral of the Incarnation where she was active in Cathedral Women and the Altar Guild. She was an avid bridge player and gardener. Lucille is survived by her daughter, Jane Till Danilek, and her husband, Donald J. Danilek of Keswick, VA and her son, Charles Bruce Till, and his wife, Lois Seider Till, of Garden City, New York and six grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. A service celebrating her life will be held at Westminister Canterbury in Charlottesville, Virginia and a Memorial Service will take place at the Cathedral of the Incarnation. Interment will be in Waterloo, Indiana. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Lucille's memory may be made to The Cathedral of the Incarnation, 50 Cathedral Avenue, Garden City, NY 11530.
