GC Rec. And USTA Co-Sponsor Women's Open Tournament

Participants included: Agnes Swinyard, Pat Castel, Linda Sullivan, Lori Rabino, Laura McGuire, Maureen Brennan, Janice Corradetti, Tricia Sarkis, Emily Murphy

The Garden City Recreation Department and the US Tennis Association held the first annual women's open tennis tournament at the GC Community Park Tennis courts. An enthusiastic group of racketeers played a close match of round robin tennis. The format, designed to allow maximum play and fun, provided the ideal number of matches and social interaction. Special thanks to Gary at Turnpike Cleaners for funding the court time and to the US Professional Tennis Association for providing balls and gifts.
