Art Exhibit "By the Light of the Garden," an exhibition of works by Long Island artist Jacqueline Barrett will be featured at Barnes Gallery in Garden City South from June 3rd through June 28th. In this exhibition, Barrett explores the subject that has become her trademark, the intricacy, purity, and perfection of nature as it was on the day of its creation. She infuses the beauty of antique botanical illustration with a fresh, modern sensibility. Her paintings and drawings combine the old-world mastery of Redoute, the expert use of light and color of Monet, and strong design sense of Toulouse-Lautrec. Barrett has participated in many juried shows and won numerous awards in such places as the Society of Illustrators, the National Arts Club, the French Embassy, the Museum of the City of New York, and the Nassau County Museum of Art. She was botanical illustrator for local Martin Viette Nurseries where her illustrations were featured in the New York Times. She has numerous private and commercial clients. "And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after its kind, and the tree yielding fruit ...and God saw that it was good. And the evening and the morning were the third day." For further information, Jacqueline Barrett may be contacted at: (516) 249 0322, (516) 557 6301, or jjjmb2002@aol.com
