Common Garden Trees And Their Care

Alexis Alvey
Spring has arrived and that means time to get out in the garden! This Sunday, April 27th, at 9:15am, Alexis Alvey will address the Adult Forum at the Garden City Community Church. With her slide show presentation, "Common Garden Trees and Their Care", the public will learn about the proper care of trees commonly found in Long Island gardens. They will learn about the unique features of dozens of different trees! From pruning to plant insects and diseases, each tree has its own regimen that, once followed, will yield a beautiful and healthy tree.

Ms. Alvey will be sharing her knowledge and experience as an arborist, or "tree doctor". She currently works for Bartlett Tree Experts in Westbury and is a graduate of Cornell University. She has a Masters Degree in Urban Forestry and Arboriculture. Alexis has had a lifelong passion for trees and nature. She lives in Garden City.

Please join Alexis Alvey for this exciting and timely presentation in the Church Parlor. The Garden City Community Church is part of the United Church of Christ, and is an Open and Affirming congregation. Worship Services are on Sundays at 8:30 am and 10:30 am, with Church School for children and Crib Room for infants and toddlers at the 10:30 am service.
