AAUW Annual Book And Author Luncheon

The community is invited to attend Garden City Branch AAUW annual Book and Author Luncheon which will be held on Friday, May 2, 2008 at The Swan Club in Glenwood Landing at noon. the program will feature three authors. they are Vivian Farrell, Judith Caseley and Susan Astor.
Vivian Farrell is an actress, author, storyteller, licensed teacher and licensed pilot. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Syracuse University in Education and a Master's degree in Educational Theatre from New York University. She taught on the elementary school level for many years, taking her young students to airfields and demonstrating her flying maneuvers in conjunction with units of study on aviation.
As a professional actress she has worked in films, commercials, soap operas, and has performed in dinner theater, summer stock, children's theatre and touring companies.
As 'The Musical Storyteller" she has performed for over 15 years in thousands of schools for tens of thousands of children. She continues to introduce classical music to children in this colorful setting with her original stories set to the music of the masters, in libraries, colleges, schools and theatres in the United States and Canada.
Ms. Farrell is the author of the children's book, "Robert's Tall Friend. A Story of the Fire Island Lighthouse," which is historical fiction.
All proceeds from the luncheon will benefit the Education Foundation and the Legal Advocacy Fund of The American Association o9f University Women. The cost is $43 per person. For reservations and further information, please call Alice Cammiso (516) 377-5839.
