Police Arrest Suspect In T-Mobile Thefts Garden City Police recently arrested a man in connection to a recent string of thefts that had occurred at T Mobile in Garden City. Detective Sergeant James Bartkowski of the Garden City Police, in an interview, stated that as a result of an investigation, police were able to make an arrest relating to 5 incidents that took place at the T Mobile store located at Old Country Road, in recent weeks. The scenario in each of these incidents, included 3 thieves, who would run into the store, and quickly cut the high-priced phones from racks using tools, before making their get-away in a waiting car. Up until recently, the police could not identify these men from the store video. Sergeant Bartkowski explained that Garden City Police detectives participate in the Nassau County Lead Department Intelligence Center on a daily basis, and that one day, they noticed that the Seventh Precinct had arrested 4 men for larcenies similar to the T Mobile incidents. Detectives Rothermel and Madden, then developed more information, and organized photo packs, all of which was eventually brought to the scene of the crime. Two out of the four suspects were arrested immediately, and one man, an 18-year-old from Queens, was charged, after being identified on the videotape. More arrests will follow.
