Phantom Ball To Benefit Hope Lodge, NYC

The Ball invitations are in the mail
The Garden City Unit of the American Cancer Society requests the pleasure of your company at the Twentieth Annual Phantom Ball. This beloved and unique event will not be held on Saturday, the third of May, at anytime whatsoever.

Each spring we extend an invitation to save the cost of babysitters and formal wear and instead make a difference in the fight against cancer by supporting the Phantom Ball. The Ball's Brilliant Benefactors, Spirited Sponsors and Fabulous Friends have supported this unique event loyally, and we hope you, too, will help make it a success. For each $25 contributed, one door prize ticket will be submitted in your name to win one of the following special prizes: "Delectable Dining for Eight" by Culinary Heights; A Party Starter Gift Basket containing a selection of Bacardi Rums and Vodka courtesy of Empire Merchants/Bacardi; Vera Bradley Weekend Getaway Travel Set - The Pear Tree; Pop the Cork! Enjoy a bottle of Dom Perignon and Two Waterford Crystal Champagne Flutes; Escape to Salon Beyond and enjoy a Full Hour Massage, Manicure and Pedicure; Sip and Smile - $100 Gift Certificate to Garden City Wines and Spirits; In Home Consultation valued at $175 by Caryl Bais Designs; A Gift You Can Sink Your Teeth Into - $100 Gift Certificate courtesy of Town Meat Market; One of a Kind Sterling Silver Necklace and Earring Set by Ande Giarraputo of andes-art.com; "Just For You" - $150 Gift Certificate to Essential Printing, Inc.; What's Cooking? You Are! A $100 Gift Certificate good toward a Cooking Class of your choice courtesy of Viking Cooking School at Loaves & Fishes. The drawing will be held May 3, 2008.

The Phantom Ball will benefit Hope Lodge, New York City. Serving as a home away from home for cancer patients coming to New York City for treatment, Hope Lodge provides free, temporary housing and other vital non-medical services in a supportive and nurturing environment. Currently there is no dedicated facility like this in our area and Hope Lodge is the American Cancer Society's response to fill this critical void in our healthcare system. Located on 32nd Street between 6th and 7th Avenues, it will feature 60 private patient rooms providing 21,900 nights of annual lodging. The Ball's proceeds will help support the building of this very special place.

Please send your response to Mrs. Cathy Reddington, 120 Weyford Terrace, Garden City, NY 11530 and include your name, address and phone number. Checks may be made payable to the Garden City Unit, American Cancer Society. Thank you for helping make Hope Lodge, New York City a reality.
