With two decisive wins under their belt Garden City's girls varsity lacrosse team has begun their season outscoring their opponents 38-15.

On March 26th the Lady Trojans hosted Wantagh and had a 13-5 lead going into the second half and won the game 19-8. Senior Erin Brennan had six goals and four assists. Caroline McTiernan had four goals. Becky Lynch and Brittany Wilton scored three goals each followed by Dayna Defliese with two and Lauren Terracciano with one. Goalkeeper Alli Kleshefsky made three saves while teammate Erin Mullins made two.

Two days later, the Trojans played host to the West Babylon Eagles for a non-league game. On the Eagles roster is Shannon Smith, who is a two-time All-American selection and four-time All-County performer at attack. As a sophomore Smith set the state record with 129 goals in a season. However none of her stats seemed evident as GC's Kaila McDonnell and the rest of the Trojans were able to hold Smith to just one goal. Garden City went on to win 19-7. Leading the scoring for the Trojans was Erin Brennan with six goals. Becky Lynch had five goals and eight assists, Caroline McTiernan had four goals while Lauren Terracciano and Brittany Wilton had two goals each. Alli Kleshefsky made four saves.
