GC Residents "Meet" The Stanley Cup

Garden City resident Bill Lucano, of News 12, recently got a visit from the most famous trophy in professional sports - the National Hockey Legue's Stanley Cup. The trophy was visiting for a photo shoot and members of the Lucano family were on hand to greet it, wearing their brand new Garden City Recreation Department Hockey jerseys. All four Lucanos play hockey with Recreation Department teams.

Twice annually, in the late spring and late fall, the GC Rec. Dept Hockey program conducts its very own "Stanley Cup" playoffs, culminating in the Championship Game, where the GC Recreation Dept's very own 'Stanley Cup' trophy is awared to the winning team in each of their respective divisions* (*Mites, Juniors, and Seniors only - there are no playoffs / championship games in the Learn and Play or Adult programs)
