Chamber Names Stuart Lubow Business Person Of The Year

The Garden City Chamber of Commerce proudly announces that Stuart H. Lubow, a founder, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Community National Bank, will be honored as 2008 "Business Person of the Year" at the Chamber's 6th annual Pineapple Ball to be held on April 18 at the Garden City Hotel. This prestigious award represents significant contributions to the local economy, to the advancement of aims and objectives of the Chamber; and to the welfare of the community. Indeed, Mr. Lubow has involved the Garden City branch and its staff in the efforts of such organizations as Rotary and Kiwanis and has supported all Chamber endeavors since becoming part of the Garden City Business community.

Headquartered in Great Neck, NY, Community National has grown to over $200 million in assets and now has six branches in Nassau and Suffolk Counties. The Garden City branch, located at 1055 Franklin Avenue celebrated its opening in April of 2006.

Stuart Lubow was responsible for the entire regulatory application process at Community National Bank, as well as the initial capital raising. Prior to Community National Bank, he was founder, president and CEO of Community State Bank where he was responsible for managing every aspect of this $145 million organization. Before accepting the position of President and CEO of State Bank, Mr. Lubow was Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Garden State Bank and was instrumental in the bank's dramatic turnaround.

During the late 1980's and early 1990's, Stuart was Senior Vice President and Chief Operations Officer at Dollar Dry Dock Bank in New York, and also served as Senior Vice President for Peoples Bank, N.A. in Fairfield, New Jersey. He has held official positions at First Fidelity Bank and Chase Manhattan Bank, N.A. Mr. Lubow is a past chairman of Teaneck Economic Development Corporation, has chaired and participated in many conferences on banking related topics at both regional and national levels, and has served as instructor at the New York University School of Continuing Education.

Stuart Lubow is involved in a number of not for profit organizations including the Lustgarten Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research. In 2006, he was honored by the United Community Fund of Great Neck as Business Person of the Year, and by the Long Island Chapter of Multiple Sclerosis as Financial Executive of the Year.

He is a graduate of Moravian College, Bethlehem, Pennsylvania where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in accounting. Mr. Lubow resides with his wife Susan and daughter Sarah in Mill Neck, New York.

Stuart Lubow will share honors at the Pineapple Ball with Gerard Lundquist, "Citizen of the Year," and Dennis Donnelly, recipient of the "Community Achievement Award."
