Community Club Presents "Confessions Of A Shakespeare Addict"

On Wednesday, April 2, 2008, at 1:30 p.m .. at the Garden City Casino, The Community Club of Garden City and Hempstead will present "Confessions of a Shakespeare Addict": a one-act play written by Robert Harrison and performed by Robert Spiotto, Artistic director of The Community Arts Programs at Hofstra University and Executive producer of Hofstra USA Productions.

We invite all members and their guests to join in the fun as Bob Spiotto dramatizes the only play about a forgotten Long Island couple, Henry Clay Folger (1857-1930) and his wife, Emily, who pursued their dreams while collecting Shakespeare books and memorabilia, and created the famous Shakespeare Library in Washington, D.C.

Prior to the performance of the play, Mr. Harrison will narrate his findings about the Folgers and share with you a truly amazing story of adventure, mystery and intrigue that will enhance your new found appreciation of what they accomplished in their quest.

Remember to bring your knowledge of Shakespeare with you because a lively question and answer period is sure to follow the play.
