St. John's Kenyan Children's Foundation Wine Tasting

Fr. Gabriel Muteru, Honorary Chairman, and the Board of Trustees of the St. John's Kenyan Children's Foundation cordially invite everyone to attend our main fundraiser event, a Wine Tasting Reception, to be held on Saturday, April 19, 2008, from 8pm to 11pm, at Kellenberg Memorial High School Cafeteria. The cost to attend this event is $25 per person. In addition to enjoying fine wines and hors d'oeuvres, there will be a Chinese Auction and a Silent Auction with great prizes for all.

The St. John's Kenyan Children's Foundation, is a registered NY State, 501-3C approved, not for profit organization, whose mission is to provide an education and to promote the welfare of orphan Kenyan children.

The educational system in Kenya is very different than ours in the U.S. In Kenya, as in other countries in Africa, children are granted basic public elementary education. High school education is a luxury only for those children who upon passing the entrance exam, can afford to pay the boarding and tuition fees required by all secondary schools. Honoring its mission, the foundation is presently funding the education, healthcare and basic needs for 50 orphan children.

This Wine Tasting reception offers a wonderful opportunity for all supporters to share an evening of fun with good friends, and at the same time, will help raise the much needed funds to pay for school fees and all the necessary basic needs of the orphan Kenyan children.

Donations of gift items and gift certificates to be included in the Chinese or Silent Auctions are appreciated.
