Cheerleader Tryouts Begin Monday

Girls in grades 8 through 11 interested in cheering on the GCHS Varsity and Junior Varsity Cheerleading squads are invited to try out next week. Tryouts will be held on Monday, 3/3, through Thursday, 3/6, 6 to 8 pm in the GCHS auxiliary gym (wrestling gym). Students will be taught a dance, cheer, jumps and stunts from Monday to Wednesday, and will audition on Thursday night in groups of 3 or 4. According to Varsity Coach Sara Tucci, the only requirement is the ability to perform a front roll ("tumblesalt"), though any other tumbling skills are welcome. Results will be announced on Friday at 4 pm in the auxiliary gym.
