53rd Easter Car Parade Planned

The Annual Easter Parade is coming up on March
Plans are in motion for the Garden City Chamber of Commerce's 53rd annual Easter Sunday Vintage Car Parade to be held March 23. The parade will step off on Franklin Avenue at Tenth Street with antique, classic, and special interest cars throughout the metropolitan area expected to participate in the lineup. Spectators are welcome to preview the hundreds of magnificent vintage car specimens at the staging area in Parking Field 9E on Franklin Avenue between Tenth and Eleventh Streets from10 a.m. to 1 p.m. when the parade steps off. The procession of cars will head south on Franklin and west on Seventh Street to Hilton Avenue where it disperses. Many exciting activities have been added to this year's event to include the Town of Hempstead's Showmobile, musical MC, Bert Donley, the renowned Banjo Rascals, wandering Easter Bunnies and more. Garden City's highly acclaimed "Taste" restaurant, a showcase exhibitor, will have available hot coffee and refreshments. The Kiwanis Bunnies will also distribute lollipops on Seventh Street during the parade where the Banjo Rascals will also perform. This year, the Chamber offers showcase booths at the exhibit area to Chamber Members interested in showcasing their products and services. Various sponsorships providing many benefits are available.
