Resident Exhibits Work At Adelphi
Dr. Petry has long been interested in art, beginning her formal training by studying painting as a teenager with Baltimore Realist Lillian Lane. A psychology professor at Adelphi, Petry earned her Ph.D. at Columbia University where she specialized in Cognitive Psychology and Perception. At Adelphi she regularly teaches courses in visual perception, creativity, and the psychology of aesthetics. In line with those interests, she has been sculpting for over twenty years and then began wood carving about fifteen years ago. Her current show exhibits over two dozen pieces, including wood carvings, bronzes, terra cotta and porcelain sculptures. This exhibit is open to the public from Monday through Saturday 9-7. Contact Richard Vaux, Director of Exhibitions, at 516-877-4462 for further information.
