Valentines For Veterans

Valentine's Day is time for sending messages to friends and loved ones-and to the nation's veterans-at Garden City primary schools. Hempstead Town Councilman Edward Ambrosino, with a group of first-graders and Principal Audrey Bellovin, visited Hemlock School earlier this month to pick up a box of Valentine greetings that Hemlock students had created especially for veterans. The cards, brimming with good wishes, were then delivered to veterans' organizations, which in turn distribute the greetings at hospitals, clinics, and other institutions.
