Nursery Program Openings At GC Nursery School

The Garden City Nursery School, located at 50 Cherry Valley Avenue in Garden City, currently has limited openings in its 3-year old nursery program for the 2008-2009 school year. This program is offered three days a week for 2 1/2 hours. The program begins in September 2008 and continues through June of 2009. All children entering the program must be 3-years of age by December 1, 2008.

The Garden City Nursery School, founded in 1951, is a non-profit cooperative school. Under the guidance of Director, Ann Amengual, the parents and teachers work together to guide the children through their firs experiences in a "school" setting and to prepare them for kindergarten and beyond. The school is interested in all aspects of young children's development; social, emotional, physical and cognitive. A wide variety of classroom activities as well as outdoor play support the school's philosophy of childhood learning through active involvement in first-hand experiences. In addition to the 3-year old nursery program, the school also offers a 4-day per week 4-year old Pre-Kindergarten program and a Playgroup for 2-year old children. Additional enrichment programs are also available for 4-year olds.
