St. Joseph School Studies Flag and Blesses New Flag Pole

A flag display
On January 22, Veterans from the United Veterans Organization visited St. Joseph School to educate the fourth and fifth graders on flag etiquette. The children watched a video and enjoyed a lesson on how to fold the flag, dispose of a flag and form a color guard, all while being provided with a background on American History. On Friday, January 25th, the hardy students braved the chill to bless and dedicate our new flagpole, a generous donation from the Carney family. All Girl and Boy Scouts, Cubs and Brownies were invited to wear their uniforms and join with the rest of the student body in saluting our flag.
