Garden Manor Nursery School

Garden Manor Nursery School provides opportunities for the children to become social beings by playing and interacting with children of their own age. Our programs include music, art, and introduction to numbers and letters, story time, show 'n tell, drama and free play.

We take several field trips throughout the year. These include visiting Hicks Nursery for a Hay Ride; storytime at the Garden City Public Library, learning the fire safety from the Garden City Fire Department, and a bus trip to Hofstra University Playhouse to see "If You Give A Pig a Pancake."

The Nursery School holds fundraisers during the year. Parents purchased Yankee Candles before Christmas and in the spring a Arbonne Cosmetic fundraiser is planned. With our fundraising money, we purchase new items for the school and we use it to pay for the children to attend the Hofstra Playhouse production "If YOu Give a Pig a Pancake." Nursery School mothers also had a bake sale at Christ Church's Harvest Fair in October.

There is still time to register children for classes in September 2008. Next year 3 year olds will have an opportunity to enroll in a 3 day morning session. There is an optional 4th day offered. For our four year old program, there is a 4 day morning session with an optional 5th day. Each session is two and one half hours in length. To register for next year, children must be 3 or 4 years old by December 1, 2008. A $150 non-refundable registration fee and contract need to be signed at registration.

We are located on the corner of Jefferson Street and Chester Avenue, 3 blocks west of New Hyde Park Road. Any questions, please call the Head Teacher, Carolyn Fernandez at 516-775-2626 any weekday morning.
