Chamber Sets Plans For Pineapple Ball

Members of the Garden City Chamber of Commerce Pineapple Ball Planning Committee have scheduled a series of meetings to set plans for the Chamber's sixth annual Pineapple Ball gala to be held on Friday evening, April 20 at the Garden City Hotel.

Dr. Anthony Libertella, immediate past Chamber president and gala chairman, has announced that the highlight of Garden City's quintessential event will be the presentation of awards to Chamber honorees for 2008. They are: Citizen of the Year, Gerard P. Lundquist, immediate past mayor, current trustee, and Director of Construction, NYC & LI Region, KeySpan Energy; Community Achievement Award, Dennis C. Donnelly, former director of government and community relations, LI Region, Verizon Communications; and Business Person of the Year, Stuart H. Lubow, founder, chairman, president and CEO, Community National Bank. An added attraction will be the presentation of the annual Excellence in Business Education Scholarship to be awarded to Madison Horl, a senior at Garden City High School

Of the 33 members of the Planning Committee, 20 attended the January 3 meeting hosted by Adelphi University at the Alumni House.
