Chef Extraordinaire Wins Award

Garden City has another star as "icing on the cake". Loaves and Fishes Cook-shop and the Viking Cooking School are proud to announce Chef Gerard M. Malloy, Certified Executive Pastry Chef was honored during the 15th Annual Awards of the American Culinary Federation, Long Island Chapter at a gala January 14 at the Chateaubriand.

Any student who has taken a cake decorating class with Chef Gerard will say that decorating becomes a fun, creative way to express artistry under the direction of this dedicated teacher.

Chef Malloy comes to Garden City with international experience. Having graduated from The Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York, Chef Gerard has trained in Switzerland prior to becoming Pastry Chef at Window on the World and at the "21" Club. He has also taught at the Arts Institute of New York City.
