Police Report:Mischief and Mayhem

On January 18, a truck stop was conducted at NHP road and there were 17 trucks issued, 10 trucks placed out of service, with 86 tickets issued...PO Cristiano observed a 30-year-old Hempstead man traveling northbound on Washington north of Stewart Avenue, with tinted windows and an altered exhaust system. The motorist also had a revoked license for DWI and was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation 2nd degree and for other traffic violations such as expired inspection, and no insurance... Officers while on patrol on January 15, received a report for two shoplifters fleeing the area near Sears. PO Jacobsen arrested a 54-year-old West Hempstead man for 3 counts of petit larceny; the first count was for the day's offense of allegedly stealing 2 tool sets valued at $538 and the other counts were for prior larcenies of tool sets on January 11 and 14. An investigation continues...Two cars at 2 different locations on Jackson Street were broken into on January 20. $15 was taken from one car, and $5 from an another...

A circuit breaker on a pole popped near a Kensington Rd. residence on January 17...A primary wire came down near Laurel St. on January 17... Hydraulic fluid leaking from an elevator pump caused alarm at a Franklin Ave office on January 18... A booster was used to extinguish a small brush fire on Stewart Ave., on January 18... A boiler problem occurred at a Lydia Lane house on January 19...Firemen aided a Cedar Place resident with a defective garage door on January 22... The electric to an oven range at a Prescott St. residence was shut off on January 22...
