With Garden City High School Lacrosse Coach Steve Finnell in attendance, last Saturday the GC Rams Youth Lacrosse program held their first clinic of New Year at St. Paul's Field House. The clinics are scheduled to continue on Saturdays throughout the winter and feature highly experienced instructors to work with the Ram players.
The program will focus upon preparation for the upcoming Spring season with a heavy emphasis on fundamentals including proper techniques for ground balls, passing, positioning, face offs, goal play, shooting and other key elements of the game. As they progress, the players will be exposed to team concepts of riding, clearing, fast breaks, man down/man up and various offensive and defensive schemes. There will be scrimmages following the specialized instruction to allow the boys the opportunity to practice the techniques they have just learned under game like conditions.
